In what may be the most exciting news for Ford SUVs, the new 2021 Ford Bronco is back. Ford is taking reservations now, and it’s just a matter of waiting for them to show up on dealership lots. But will there be a Raptor trim this time? Well, Ford is not officially confirming this yet, but speculation suggests there will indeed be a 2021 Ford Bronco Raptor in the near future. There’s a high demand for this trim, and it seems fitting with the Bronco’s style. Let’s take a look at why this may happen.

Well, our first piece of evidence is that the people want it. The Ford F-150 Raptor is incredibly popular, with die-hard followers to keep it going strong. Not only is the Bronco is an incredibly capable vehicle, but the Raptor’s style is hard to top. It is easily one of the most, if not the most, aesthetically pleasing Ford trucks on the market. To add this beautiful exterior look to a Bronco, well, that would be a vehicle worth dumping our money into.

Further, the 2021 Bronco is not officially released yet. It has been announced but not released. This means there’s still time to announce a new trim option. On top of that, people are already speculating a 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor trim, so why not bite the bullet and give us what we want now?

However, others speculate that suspense is the whole point. They hype us up with the 2021 model and drop the bomb in 2022 or 2023. With enough speculation and demand for this trim, Ford is bound to listen. Whether it’s for the 2021 or the 2022 model, the Ford Bronco Raptor is likely destined to show up eventually.

Confirmed Bronco Trims

Since we don’t have any official Bronco Raptor information to show, we might as well take a look at the trims that are confirmed. They already share some similarities with the F-150 Raptor in terms of style. Let’s look at what the 2021 editions bring to the table.

The Bronco is essentially Ford’s answer to the Jeep Wrangler. They are definitely competing models. The Bronco is square, it’s tough, and it doesn’t always keep its clothes on. Yes, even the base Bronco trim gets a removable roof and doors. It comes in seven trim options (so far). These include the aforementioned Base, the Big Bend, the Black Diamond, the Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, and the First Edition. There’s a lot to unpack here, so let’s divide it up by trim.

Base

The good ole Base comes standard with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine and a 7-speed manual transmission with crawler gear. You can upgrade this one to a 2.7-liter engine with 10-speed automatic transmission if desired. Its standard package includes cloth seats, 16-inch silver steel wheels, 30-inch all-season tires, multiple tow hooks, and the new Ford SYNC 4 infotainment. It also boats an advanced Terrain Management System that includes 5 G.O.A.T modes. These include Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, and Sand.

The Base trim can also be optioned with the available Sasquatch Package. The Sasquatch Package is comprised of 17-inch black-painted beadlock wheels with 35-inch LT315/70R17 BSW Mud-Terrain tires. It also comes with electronic-locking front and rear axles, a 4.7 final drive ratio, improved shock absorbers, and more. Overall, the Base comes with a lot for a base-level trim. You can buy it for $28,500.

Big Bend

The Big Bend reels in buyers with its more luxurious interior upgrades. This one comes with heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and remote start. It has the same engine options as the Base, with additional privacy glass and LED fog lamps. You can also get the Sasquatch package for Big Bend, as well as the Mid Package.

The Mid Package includes many items. Some of these include illuminated visor mirrors, a reverse sensing system, cross-traffic alert, a lane-keeping system, and backup assist grid lines on the rear-view camera. Mostly, the Mid Package is a bunch of driver-assist features. The Big Bend’s standard package includes 6 G.O.A.T modes, adding Mut/Ruts to the five from the Base trim. You can take this one home for $33,385.

Black Diamond

This one comes with the same engine options and the same available packages as the Big Bend. However, its standard package includes additional rock rails and heavy-duty bash plates, as well as rubberized flooring with drain plugs and marine-grade vinyl seats. This is handy for all those mudding four-wheelers out there. Speaking of which, the Black Diamond’s seven G.O.A.T modes includes Rock-Crawl. This one can be yours for $36,050.

Outer Banks

The same engine again, except this time, the 10-speed transmission is standard. The Outer Banks steps it up to 18-inch wheels, body-color exterior door handles, mirror caps and fender flares, and two additional packages. The High package includes everything that the Mid has, plus additional sound deadening features, a 12-inch central touchscreen, 360-degree cameras, and more. The Lux package goes even further with two additional front-row charging USB ports and voice-activated navigation, to name a few things. The Outer Banks trim is available for $38,955.

Badlands

This one has seven G.O.A.T modes as well, but trades Sport for Baja. Its description says its best for those who like to be extreme in their off-roading adventures. The Badlands trim comes with 33-inch tires on 17-inch carbonized gray-painted wheels. But you can, of course, upgrade to 35’s on 17-inch beadlock wheels with the Sasquatch package. You can own a Badlands Bronco for $42,095.

Wildtrak

This one is best for those who love both speed and off-roading. It comes standard with the 2.7 twin-turbocharged V6 engine, a black-painted hardtop, and a Wildtrak hood graphic. Its G.O.A.T modes include Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, Sand, Mut/Ruts, and Baja. And to top it off, the Sasquatch package is standard on this trim, so you’ll get standard 35-inch tires with 17-inch beadlock wheels, and trail one-pedal driving. The Wildtrak starts at $48,875, which is a bargain for the capability it represents.

First Edition

This one is a combination of everything great that the other models can offer. It’s so great that only 3,500 will be made, and all of them have already been reserved. The First Edition includes its own unique hood and body graphics, a safari bar, its own special interior, and 7 of the best G.O.A.T modes available. Unfortunately, this one can’t be yours unless you were one of the lucky 3,500, but in case you’re curious, it went for $59,305.

The Final Word

Overall, each trim comes with its own special perk. If you need some help deciding which one is right for you, then pay our Cincinnati dealership a visit. The team here at Kings Ford is always happy to help provide information on the latest that Ford has to offer. And regardless of what model you choose, there is still plenty of customization room.

What does all this mean for the potential Bronco Raptor trim? It’s hard to tell. The Bronco already has a wide variety of available customization and build options. It may be smart of Ford to add a Raptor model for those who missed out on the limited First Edition reservations. Sadly, we’ll have to just wait and see what happens. Don’t give up hope yet, but also take comfort in knowing that the Bronco already comes with plenty of killer options.
