At King’s Ford QuickLane Tire and Auto Center, you never need an appointment for our signature oil change. As long as it’s in our normal business hours, anytime that’s good for you is good for us. However, we do recommend appointments, and if you plan it just right, after a speedy oil change, you can head on out for lunch or dinner at any of the many restaurants conveniently located near us. Whether you’re looking for a casual seated dining experience or something uniquely Cincinnati, you’ll find a great place for lunch or dinner before or after visiting King’s Ford QuickLane.

The Tried and True

Right across Fields Ertel Road is O’Charley’s. From its Nashville beginnings fifty years ago, O’Charley’s has grown to over 200 restaurants in 17 states across the midwest and south. Whenever you’re not quite sure what you want, there’s O’Charley’s. The “O’mazing appetizers” cover the traditional casual dining gamut from potato skins to spinach and artichoke dip. The rest of O’Charley’s offerings reflect the states in which its stores are located, from the Nashville Hot Chicken and Carolina Gold BBQ sauced chicken sandwiches or baby back ribs to cornmeal-breaded Mississippi farm-raised catfish and a sirloin with Cajun seasonings and Cajun butter.

If you’re feeling more amore than Americana, there’s a nearby Carrabba’s Italian Grill. With locations across most of the country, Carrabba’s proves that Italian food is more than just spaghetti and meatballs. Not that you won’t find spaghetti and meatballs or other classics like shrimp scampi, tomato and fresh burrata caprese salad, and eggplant parmesan. But you’ll also find Chef Damian’s wood-grilled Chicken Bryan topped with goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, and the house lemon butter sauce, as well as Tuscan grilled steaks and chops.

If you’re looking for the convenience of a chain but want the flavors of the Meditteranean, head to Taziki’s. There’s hummus, whipped feta, and, of course, tzatziki dips to start, and a classic Greek lemon chicken soup. Grilled chicken, beef, lamb, salmon, shrimp, and vegetable feast plates come with Greek salad and either roasted new potatoes or basmati rice. There’s also chicken, beef, lamb, and veggie gyro sandwiches. You’ll be the hero if you call ahead to order a family feast to take home. And on the weekends, there’s an option of Taziki’s signature pasta: mixed lettuces with penne pasta and grilled chicken tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette and topped with tomatoes, feta, and fresh basil. With hummus and pita for six, you’ve got a fast and filling meal that almost feels like a vacation.

Slim Chickens is a chicken-heavy chain, this one on the fast-food side. Their tenders soak in a southern-style buttermilk marinade until it’s time to be hand-breaded for your order. A house specialty is their mac and cheese bowl topped with either original or buffalo chicken tenders. Besides the expected sandwiches and wraps, you can even get chicken and waffles. Besides the super fresh chicken, Slim’s is also known for its sauces. The house specialty is also a house secret blend of herbs, tomatoes, and pepper. Besides BBQ, honey mustard, and blue cheese, you can also get flavors like mango habanero and Korean BBQ. Slim Chickens has a variety of family meals so you can get your oil change, get dinner, and get home.

Local Chains

A smaller chain that is no stranger to Cincinnati diners is Skyline Chili — after all, City Beat readers have named Skyline Cincinnati’s Best Chili 25 years in a row. Recognized by the Smithsonian as one of the “20 Most Iconic Foods in America”, Cincinnati chili has Mediterranean roots with flavors like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Skyline Chili is more than just its award-winning chili on Coney dogs, fries, and wrapped in burritos; they also have a fresh range of salads, wraps, and baked potatoes.

Fricker’s is a small chain that started just up the road in Dayton. With a motto of “Fun, Food, Sports, and Spirits,” it’s no surprise that Fricker’s is famous for its wings. The Frickin’ Chicken wings are available with either standard breading or without (aka Nakedly) and in boneless, chunked, and even shrimp form. Whichever wing you prefer, you have 15 sauces to choose from, starting with the mildest of teriyakis, meandering through honey mustard and bourbon molasses, and ending with the Frickin’ X-Scream – if you dare. The rest of the menu is bar food with a twist, including nine different burgers, chicken pizzas, a one-pound porterhouse steak, and Ray’s Big Frickin’ Fried Bologna’ N Cheese Sandwich.

The founder of Frisch’s Big Boy came from a restaurant family right here in Cincinnati, but it wasn’t until he met a certain Bob that it all fell into place, complete with a cute little mascot in overalls holding a massive burger. Besides the classic Big Boy burger with its iconic layer of tartar sauce, Frisch’s has a whole host of burgers, wraps, and patty melts. You can even get breakfast all day, and there are a handful of dinner options, including fried fish and Cincinnati chili and spaghetti. And you’d better believe there are hand-dipped milkshakes to go with those classic burgers.

One of a Kind Cincinnati Restaurants

Newer to the Cincy food scene is the Bombay Brazier, top-quality Indian food in an elegant setting. If you are new to Indian food, this is the place to learn. Tandoori chicken is marinated in yogurt and spices and cooked in a special cylindrical clay oven. Naan, a type of bread, is also cooked in the tandoor, and Bombay Brazier even makes an 18-ounce ribeye in the clay oven, as well. They have all the traditional Indian curries from Tikka Masala to spicy vindaloo, oniony Rogan Josh, and creamy korma. These curries come with your choice of protein – chicken, lamb, salmon, shrimp, prawns, or lobster, or vegetables or paneer cheese. You’ll also find a wide variety of vegetarian dishes at Bombay Brazier, many of which feature aloo (potatoes) and/or paneer (cheese).

The Iron Chef Grill is a classic Japanese steakhouse. Hibachi is available at both lunch and dinner if you’re looking for a show with your food. Hibachi meals come in a whole range of meat options and your choice of house salad, miso soup, vegetables, rice, and, of course, ginger and yum yum sauce. If you’re craving sushi, the Iron Chef Grill has all the standard rolls as well as some house specialties. Bulgogi sliced beef and fried chicken katsu are just some of Iron Chef Grill’s additional entree options.

Of course, you may want to celebrate all the money you saved on an oil change and head on over to Tony’s of Cincinnati. Zagat gave Tony’s a top food rating among steakhouses, and OpenTable diners named it best overall restaurant, best food, best service, and best vibrant bar scene. Tony’s has a raw bar and a selection of pasta to honor the founder’s Italian heritage – including the Rig-a-Tony made with house-ground prime strip loin and hand-cut filet. Steak is king at Tony’s with all the classic steakhouse options like filet mignon, a 24-ounce Porterhouse, and USDA Prime Bone-In Ribeye. You can also choose all the best classic steakhouse toppings like bearnaise sauce and horseradish and chive butter, or get your steak Oscar-style with crabmeat and Hollandaise sauce.
