Ford Cars: The Perfect Mix of Hi-Tech and Hi-Performance

When you hear the word “Hi-Tech” you probably get the image of some nerdy scientist or engineer in a white lab coat with a pocket protector full of pens, wearing a pair of thick, horn-rimmed glasses. Maybe you think of some scrawny teenager leaning in front of a computer screen late at night. Now think of the word “Hi-Performance.” I bet the image of the teen in front of a computer or the techy in the lab coat just vanished from your mind and was replaced by a big, beautiful muscle car. But, what if I were to tell you that with Ford Cars, Hi-Tech and Hi-Performance go hand-in-hand? I know, you are probably thinking I’m nuts. However, you probably should know that Hi-Tech allows for the Hi-Performance of a sports car to go 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds on an engine efficiently producing 760 horsepower. Hi-Tech also provides the Hi-Performance for a midsize sedan to give you an almost incomprehensible 109 miles per gallon on a plug-in hybrid engine. There are plenty of Ford cars for sale at Kings Ford in Cincinnati that show you the great results when hi-tech gets together with hi-performance.
Come visit us today, and let us show you what Hi-Tech and Hi-Performance can do for your driving enjoyment, whether it is an all-new 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 or one of our excellent Ford Hybrid SUVs or sedans.
2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500: The Ultimate Hi-Performance Sports Car with Hi-Tech Features
With a powerful 5.2-liter Supercharged Cross Plane Crank V8 that produces 760 horsepower and 625 lb-ft, the all-new 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 has the speed to go from 0 to 60 in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it 3.5 seconds. This engine runs on a TREMEC 7-speed dual clutch manual transmission and has an incredibly efficient compression ratio of 9.5:1. The GT500 will make you the envy of every other driver out on the road, but with a base MSRP of $72,900 won’t set you back like other two-door performance sports coupes from some other manufacturers.
The Ford Motor Company has leveraged the latest technological features to ensure that the GT500 will give you the performance you desire without compromising your safety needs. The rear brakes are four-piston Brembo calipers with six-piston Brembo calipers in the front. There is Ford’s AdvanceTrac system with Electronic Stability Control to keep you on the road in all kinds of conditions.
Ford has also added selectable drive modes to the 2020 GT500, which will allow you to control the car’s driving dynamics with a simple flick of a toggle switch on the center stack. You choose from normal, snow/wet, sport, track, or drag strip. Ford’s MagneRide damping system will automatically adjust the car’s ride to changing road conditions, fully 1,000 timers per second for each damper! This will give you a smooth and balanced ride in your GT500 that would be expected from more expensive performance cars.
All of these features will also provide you with a surprisingly efficient estimated fuel economy of 12 miles per gallon in the city, 18 miles per gallon on the highway, and a combined 14 miles per gallon. The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is where Hi-Performance and Hi-Technology meet in the form of a sports car.

Hybrid Technology for Now and the Future
Ford Motor Company has not limited its technological breakthroughs to high-performance sports cars. For 2020, Ford has rolled out a full line of hybrid and electric vehicles. As Ford President and CEO recently remarked on a conference call with investors on October 23, 2019, “As you know, we’re taking a portfolio approach to this. It isn’t just about Plug and hybrid it’s also battery electric vehicles, starting with a very exciting vehicle next year and the other ones are coming after that.” To this end, you can choose from sedans such as the 2020 Ford Fusion Hybrid, with a base MSRP of $28,000, which makes it one of the most affordable vehicles in its class.
The EPA estimates that drivers of the 2020 Fusion Hybrid should receive 43 miles per gallon in city driving and 41 miles per gallon on the highway. This is the result of the battery providing most of the drive for the vehicle at slower speeds. The 2020 Fusion Hybrid runs on a 2.0-liter VCT Atkinson-cycle Hybrid Engine and Electric Motor with a lithium-ion battery. It has an eCVT automatic transmission and is a front-wheel drive vehicle.
In its 2018 annual report to shareholders, Ford Motor Company reported that “Executing a compelling plan for vehicle propulsion that delights our customers and supports our company’s commitment to do its part to reduce CO2 emissions as part of the Paris Accord. To advance this strategy, we’ve already introduced the all-new 2020 Ford Explorer Hybrid, the first of our next-generation hybrids that provide a blend of no-compromise capability and efficiency.” 2020 Explorer Limited Hybrid runs on a 3.3-liter DI NA Hybrid engine and gives the SUV the capability to tow up to 5,000 pounds with the proper configuration.
Ford has designed a hybrid SUV that will give you fuel efficiency without compromising on luxury, safety, and performance. When configured in rear-wheel drive, the Explorer should provide 27 miles per gallon in the city, 29 miles per gallon on the highway, and 28 miles per gallon combined. The four-wheel drive model should have a fuel efficiency of 23 miles per gallon in city driving, 26 miles per gallon highway, and 25 miles per gallon combined. The estimated range of the 2020 Ford Explorer Limited Hybrid is 500 miles, and the base MSRP for the SUV is $48,130.

If you are in the market for a smaller SUV, Ford has also come out with a hybrid version of its popular Escape small SUV. The 2020 Escape SE Sport Hybrid has a base MSRP of $28,255, and operates on a 2.5-liter I-4 Atkinson-cycle powertrain featuring an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission and an 88 kW electric motor.
In addition to combining technology and performance, the engineers at Ford have also shown their ability to fit form with function. They have placed the liquid-cooled lithium-ion batter outside of the vehicle in the space below the floor of the second-row of seats, unlike many other manufacturers’ hybrid vehicles who use up valuable cargo space by placing the battery in the vehicle’s trunk.
If you want to get an advanced, hi-performance sedan without having to spend an inordinate amount of time and money at the gas pump, check out the 2020 Fusion Plug-in Hybrid Titanium. The EPA has estimated that drivers of this latest Plug-in Hybrid will enjoy 109 miles per gallon of gasoline equivalent (MPGe) in the city, 97 MPGe in on the highway, and a combined 103 MPGe. The Fusion Plug-in runs on a 2.0-liter iVCT Atkinson-cycle I-4 hybrid engine and has a base MSRP of $35,000.
With that kind of mileage, you should be able to make up any price differential compared to internal combustion engines by what you save at the pump. In addition, Ford has added a fun little feature to the 2020 Fusion Plug-in Titanium: SmartGauge with EcoGuide. The more efficiently you drive, the more leaves you grow on the gauge! This allows you to have fun while also getting real-time information on your car’s performance. In other words, with the 2020 Ford Fusion Plug-in, Hi-Performance plus Hi-Technology equals Hi-Fun!
Ford’s Commitment to Performance and Technology
In 2018, the Ford Motor Company acquired the iconic Michigan Central Station in Detroit’s historic Corktown neighborhood. Ford’s Executive Chairman William Clay Ford, Jr., remarked that “We plan to transform this former railroad station into the centerpiece of a vibrant campus where Ford and its partners will work on autonomous and electric vehicle businesses and design solutions for a transportation operating system that makes mobility convenient and accessible. More than just a collection of buildings, Corktown will serve as a magnet for talent and a catalyst for change.”
