Excellent Driver Assistance and Safety Features in the 2024 Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid

Thinking about making the switch from a traditional gas-engine vehicle to a plug-in hybrid? If you check out a Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid for sale, you’ll be impressed by how many awesome features are hiding in this compact SUV. Today, many drivers are particularly interested to know what sorts of driver assist and safety features a vehicle has. With solid driver-assist and safety features in place, you can not only reduce the chances of traffic tickets, but you can also drive with the confidence that your vehicle has your back when conditions become unpredictable or difficult to maneuver. The 2024 Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid boasts an excellent lineup of these features, and below, we’re going to go over the benefits of some of our favorites.
Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane-Keeping System, plus Speed Sign Recognition
Do you spend more time than you like to admit in rush hour traffic? Constantly moving your foot back and forth between the gas and brake becomes exhausting. That’s why having this feature of the 2024 Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid is such a treat. Adaptive Cruise Control works a bit like regular cruise control in that you still set a desired speed, and the vehicle will take over braking and accelerating to maintain it. However, it also accounts for the distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you, slowing when needed to keep a safe distance. When the vehicle in front of you comes to a stop, the vehicle can even come to a full stop, too, making it great for traffic jams. Then, when it senses the vehicle ahead of you starts driving off, your vehicle will resume accelerating
Also, a part of this grouping is the Lane-Keeping Assist system. Nobody wants to be the car that’s swerving all over the road. It reads the markings on the road and alerts you when you are beginning to drift out of your lane. Finally, a feature many drivers rave about is Speed Sign Recognition. This feature detects posted speed signs, and if you’re going faster than the designated speed, the Escape will automatically adjust your speed to keep you within the limit. If you live somewhere where the speed limit seems to change every few blocks, from school zones to construction zones, you might struggle to monitor these changes on your own, which puts you at risk of speeding tickets. Speed Sign Recognition technology can make speeding tickets a thing of the past.

360-Degree Camera With Split View
Don’t you sometimes wish you had eyes all the way around your head to keep track of everything going on while driving? Well, with the 2024 Escape Plug-In Hybrid’s 360-Degree Camera system with Split View, you can. This system contains cameras mounted on the front grille, tailgate handle, and side view mirrors. As a result, you enjoy continuous views of what’s happening around your Escape at all times. You even get a top-down view. And you get to decide how you want to see this camera footage—either as full-screen or split-screen images.
You can choose between several views, including Front View, which offers a view of the front on the left side of the screen, and a 360-degree image on the right side. The front split view shows you an extended 180-degree view of what’s happening in front of your vehicle. The rear normal view gives you a full view of what’s directly behind your vehicle, while the rear split gives you a more extensive 180-degree view of what’s behind your vehicle. Plus, there are other available views, including trailer reverse guidance, which helps you back up when towing a vessel.
These are just some of the view options. Visit us, and we’d love to show you the other views, as well as additional functions like the zoom function. Forget having to crane your neck to see around you or ask a passenger to hop out and spot you during tricky parking or backup jobs. With these cameras, you’ll be fully informed about potential hazards and nearby obstacles at all times.
The Available Park Assist 2.0
Okay, this is a cool feature that’s always fun to show to our customers in person. If getting into tight parallel parking spots is one of your least favorite driving maneuvers, we definitely recommend adding this feature. Park Assist 2.0 can both identify a spot for your vehicle and maneuver you into it. Here’s how it works:
- Press the Active Park Assist 2.0 button. When cruising at low speeds past spots, this button will trigger the system to automatically scan for a spot that your vehicle will fit into.
- Once the system has identified an appropriate spot for your vehicle, you’ll stop and shift into neutral.
- Take your foot off the brake pedal and hold down the Active Park Assist 2.0 button. The vehicle will take over steering, braking, shifting, and accelerating to guide you into the parking spot.
If you live where street parking is highly competitive and you’re constantly trying to get into tight spots, this feature is a game changer.

The Belt-Minder
Most vehicles today offer seatbelt reminders for front-row passengers, but few offer these for second-row passengers. So we love that your whole crew can benefit from this feature in the 2024 Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid. There are a couple of ways this system works. First, when driving at speeds above six mph, should you or a passenger’s belt be unbuckled for more than a minute, the system emits a chime to alert you to put your belt(s) back on. Additionally, after turning the ignition on, if a seatbelt is left unbuckled for more than a minute or two, the system will activate and sound alerts.
We love to show this feature to parents who can’t always monitor their young rear seat passengers. Sometimes, when reaching for a toy or just because they’re feeling restless, rear-seat passengers take off their seatbelts. If a driver is looking up directions or taking an incoming call, they might not notice, leaving those rear-seat passengers at great risk in the event of a collision or sudden stop. This system makes it very hard to ignore if a rear seat passenger removes their seatbelt.
