At Kings Ford, we’re always going above and beyond to bring you a wide variety of quality Ford cars, trucks, and vehicles at our Ford dealership in Cincinnati and Mason, OH. While some people may love the roar of an engine, there are still times when it’s not a totally good idea to wake the entire neighborhood up with the sound of your car. Ford has taken this belief into account and created a brand-new feature for their 2018 Ford Mustang GT – the Quiet Start.

Quieting the Crowd with Quiet Start

The 2018 Ford Mustang GT comes with an industry-first Quiet Start – also known as Good Neighbor Mode. This revolutionary feature will allow a driver to keep the sound of the vehicle at a minimum as he or she is starting it up. When the Ford Mustang GT typically starts, it emits a roar in the low 80 decibels – well above a comfortable hearing level for many. However, the Quiet Start will drop the sound about ten decibels to a much more reasonable 72 decibels upon startup, which is approximately at the same sound level as a vacuum cleaner.

Having said that, for those who love the sound of a loud engine revving up – don’t worry! It’s still not going anywhere; you’ll just be able to determine what times Quiet Start will actually take place. In fact, this is the first sports car where you can pre-choose what times you want your car to be in Quiet Start mode. For example, if you don’t want to cause your neighbors to be alarmed (which is why it’s also called the “Good Neighbor Mode!”), you can set your car to run on Quiet Start from 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. or any other personalized setting you prefer.
